Question during Open Counseling:

Considering the brand archetypes, how strictly should we adhere to a specific one once we have decided on it? For the “Hero,” it seems that we should appear strong and successful, but we feel that we want to appear emotionally fragile on stage in contrast to the “fears”.

When considering archetypes like “The Hero,” it’s important to remember that these are flexible frameworks rather than strict roles. An archetype serves as a starting point for building a persona or brand, helping to guide how you might be perceived by your audience. However, the power of a well-rounded persona lies in its depth and the ability to show different facets of your character.

“The Hero” archetype often embodies strength, courage, and perseverance, traits that resonate well in promotional materials and can be compelling elements of your public persona. However, expressing vulnerability or emotional depth on stage can enhance your connection with the audience, making your performance more relatable and memorable. This contrast does not detract from your archetype; rather, it enriches it by adding layers that reflect a more complex human experience.

Key Points: #

  1. Flexibility of Archetypes: Use the archetype as a guideline, not a limitation. You can embody “The Hero” while also exploring themes of vulnerability or fear in your performances.
  2. Emotional Depth: Showing different emotions can enhance your relatability. Being emotionally open on stage can strengthen the heroic image by showcasing the courage it takes to be vulnerable in front of others.
  3. Audience Connection: Contrasting strong and vulnerable aspects can make your performances more engaging and help build a deeper connection with your audience.

By blending the strengths of the “Hero” archetype with the rawness of emotional performances, you create a persona that is both admirable and deeply human, which can resonate more profoundly with your fans.
